Medellin is great. The public transportation is wonderful.
Medellin is great. The public transportation is wonderful. The people are very friendly and more than happy to assist tourists. The variety and quality of food is outstanding. You have to learn to keep some small coins for beggars or just say no and keep moving or tell them to go away. We felt safe everywhere we went, walking on dark streets at night but we were in Laureles but often off the beaten paths going to local restuarants.

Medellín is very rich in culture.
Medellín is very rich in culture. The locals were very welcoming and informative. I felt very safe there as a black woman. Uber is the best way to get around to any places that aren’t walkable for you. The food is great, my favorite restaurant of my stay was Idílico. Reserve the chefs tasting if you can, you won’t regret it. Book a day trip from Medellin to Guatape through Viator, you will love it. Take a moment to visit Comuna 13. I’ve never seen anything like it. Book an exotic fruit tasting/cocktail class as well. Medellin was definitely a trip to remember!

It was a beautiful city with a lot of green space.
It was a beautiful city with a lot of green space. I really enjoyed the energy and resilience of the people. I did not feel unsafe, not anymore than any other large city. I also stayed smart and watched my bags for pickpockets, which was my biggest concern. I avoided areas and activities that could get me in trouble. The metro was easy to maneuver.

Look very closely the hotel and room you rent to include the amenities.. I have stayed in over 6 different hotels in the range of $60-$87. It was very difficult to find a good hotel that met my basic needs
1- Ac that works, not fans
2- A good breakfast or at least a place to eat close by
3- Security or lighting when returning at night
4- Clean working bathrooms with hot water and knobs that don't fall off
5- No surprises when checking in or out with surprise fees
When you find one like I have stick to that hotel the next visit or go up in price range

Comfortable weather. Awesome food, beer and coffee.
Comfortable weather. Awesome food, beer and coffee. You can plan your whole trip around the city with Uber, super safe and cheap. Hear the advise of the locals, they know better. Plan for a whole afternoon on "Comuna 13", immerse yourself in the culture, have dinner and do your shopping. Withdraw money on the "BanColombia" ATM's, they have the better rate. Book the Guatapé trip, but make sure that they stop at "Altos del Chocho". Tip your tour guides and waiters, they work for it.

The food and the culture were great. The views were amazing.
The food and the culture were great. The views were amazing. And although the tap water is safe to drink in this city, I would stick to bottled water unless you won't mind the rather poor (and metallic) taste of tap.
One thing to note if you are an obvious foreigner, there are people constantly hounding you and bombarding you while you are walking in the street just to sell you things, get you to dine with them, or simply give you money. This was my least favorite part of the trip. I am a tall white American woman. At certain times of the day/night, I could not walk 10 steps without being approached by street vendors or begging children.
Beautiful very unique hotel. It was clean and in an excellent location. The rooms are very comfortable and very cute with everything you need. The bed and the pillows were fabulous. they had the best mini bar and snack bar inside the room that I have ever seen in Colombia. there are restaurants and nightclubs and parks and the SmartFit gym and bars and everything you would ever want within a five or 10 minute walk and there are countless restaurants literally across the street up and down the street. I loved everything about this place.
Amazing staff, good location in a quiet path of Poblado yet super close to an Éxito supermarket, to the metro and to parque Lleras. The breakfast was decent, too, and we had a nice chat with the chef. The 4th day we left to a more expensive 4star hotel in Lleras and we really regretted having left hotel 574; hotel 574 was just so much better than the more expensive place. Hotel 574 was such a nice place and definitely one of the best places we stayed at during our 3 week trip in Colombia.
The hotel itself is beautiful, aesthetically pleasing and modern looking. It is also close enough to all the bars and restaurants in El Poblado area but far enough where you’re not in the chaos of it all.
Some other things I liked about the hotel: staff are friendly, the hotel is about a 25-30 min walk to parque Lleras and other “hot spots” around the area. Ac works great, and the rooftop area has a beautiful view of the city.
The location of Hotel Torre Poblado is perfect. You are right in the center of El Poblado — only 5-10min walk to Parque Lleras and Provenza. The restaurants around the area are also great to try out. ATMs are available in local drug stores and there is a heavy police presence in the area.
Also, you HAVE to check out the view from the 10th floor. This is the area you have breakfast in and trust me, the view is breathtaking.
We liked everything about this place. Room was super comfortable. The hot water shower was the best we had in Colombia so far. The included breakfast was above average. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The hotel includes secured parking and the neighborhood in Laureles was very nice and walkable with many restaurants around. Would highly recommend .
After one month in Colombia this was the second hotel I stayed at with a hot shower and second hotel with shampoo provided. And the hot shower was much better here, and the room was 3 quarters of the price.
Really, really good food, very good prices. Great staff, especially the girl behind reception she is fantastic.
This place is very cool
Brand new hotel/hostel in buzzling El Poblado, Medellin. Tatiana is a very sweet host and she can tell you all the ins and outs of this little paradise. Tatiana did the interior design all by here self. With eye for detail and nature. Refugio del Jaguar is a piece of art. Delicious breakfast. Amazing coffee. Super clean. Just perfect.
The staff was very friendly and professional. The place clean and comfortable. There was a couple of restaurants right next to the hotel (Peruvian & Colombian food). There was a Smartfit right below the the hotel. Although the hotel did have a decent gym on the 8th floor of the hotel. Breakfast was good and had a good variety.
The hotel was extremely quiet (a great thing) after many loud nights in Colombia. A special shout-out to the staff member Shirley: the most phenomenal person we've met in all of our time in Colombia. She was such a caring woman wanting to even walk us to the metro to keep us in the right direction!
We really enjoyed our stay in the Sites Hotel, the room was spacious and clean, the bed a bit too soft for us, the nightly view from the balcony just great. The cleaning and restaurant staff was very nice and the service at breakfast was the best we experienced on our 2 months Colombia trip so far.
Disappointed very simple NOT RECOMMEND
Colombia is a major exporter for Coffee, and they do not serve that at this Hotel
had to go to another place to take a breakfast.
Ps. Thought Genius level 2/3 had some benefits ...!!! DIDN'T GOT NONETHELESS nor a breakfast !!
The rooms were very pretty. El poblado is a party district and we did research this before booking. However most reviews for this hotel did not mention the noise. If you are staying in Medellin to party and want to sleep from 5am-11am this hotel is perfect.
Location was excellently positioned to Provenza and Parque Lleras. More importantly, not enough good things can be said about the staff; not only polite, but helpful to travelers new to Colombia and learning to navigate some of the cultural nuances.
great location in El Poblado Area. The hotel is near the Santa Fe Shopping mall and Andres Carne de Res (great steakhouse in Medellin).
Helpful hotel staff that makes you feel at home.
Good breakfast with a lot of options
Swimming pool is large
My first time in Medellin and this place was perfect check in was easy and the views from the room were beautiful and the rooftop pool/bar area was amazing overall this was the best hotel I have stayed in between my three trips to Colombia
Perfect location where all the excitement is in El Poblado Medellin. Very nice spacious rooms, hot water, great breakfast, friendly staff. Didn't have a microwave though. I will go back to this hotel without a doubt.
Tiny room without window, nothing like images shown. No internet. Staff very rude, no attempt to communicate in English or Portuguese, insisting that Colombia speaks Spanish (it's a hotel).
The location is good and peaceful. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Compared to other Colombian hotels this was better than average. Hot water from shower.
